A warm welcome from The Connaught School

The Connaught School has 545 pupils and the staff encourage each pupil to ‘be the best they can be’.  We have a sports specialism and base our ethos on the Olympic Values which are developed not only through the curriculum, but also through our House System.  As the town of Aldershot has such a strong military connection the Houses have been named after four great military leaders; Marlborough, Montgomery, Stanhope and Wellington.

Our staff  are absolutely committed to our pupils and work hard to ensure that lessons are engaging so that the pupils nurture an enjoyment for learning and the desire to succeed. The whole school attendance is 96% reflecting the pupils’ pleasure in coming to school!

I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of such a vibrant learning community.  The staff and pupils never cease to amaze me with their talents.

I hope you will visit our school to see for yourself – you will be guaranteed a warm welcome.

Connaught pupils enjoy exam success

We are delighted to be able to share the exam success of our pupils.  This year there was a 14% increase, to 43%, in the numbers of pupils achieving 5+A*-C including English and Maths and a 12% increase, to 50%, in those achieving five A*-C passes.   99% of our pupils achieved 5A+ – G grades including English and Maths.

The Government’s new progress measures show that pupils at the school made at least expected progress and we are in line with national expectations.  The number of pupils making three levels of progress in both English and Maths is very close to national averages in both subjects.

Pupils at all levels have achieved well at the school and we are particularly pleased with the number of A and A* grades achieved by some.  Ujjal Sunuwar achieved 8A* and 3As, Gemma Clark achieved 7A* and 3As and Lauren Donnelly 3A* and 7As.

We are very much looking forward to building on this year’s success as we take in one of our biggest year 7 cohorts ever.
